A Railfan Christmas!

It's been an amazing few months in the run up to Christmas engaging with railways and railfans across the world. We've seen some amazing photos, celebrated the reopening of some heritage routes hit by the global pandemic and published some informative news items about what the future holds for the world in rail.

Last week we asked you to share with us any festive rail photos that you've taken recently or in years gone by. Below we've selected some of the best to end 2020. We hope everyone continues to stay safe and we can't wait to grow, learn and engage more in 2021.

Jennifer Al-Beik has shared some amazing photos with us over the last few months, including these of the Naugatuck Railroad Toys for Tots train (above and below). We particularly like the scale offered by Mrs. Claus in the one photo, showing just how impressive the FL9 is in size. Ronald Glenn Compton sent us this onboard shot (above - snapshot of a video) of the Royal Gorge Route Railroad. Snowy scenery indeed! A Norfolk Southern train makes its way through heavy snow in this fantastic shot here by Reed Hamilton. We Are Railfans newcomer Teresa Glenn Breckenridge offered up this great shot of Norfolk Southern's 6132 in a snow-covered downtown Columbus, Ohio.
